Major Frank Briganti

Major Frank J. Briganti began his law enforcement career in 1983 as a patrol officer with the Hasbrouck Heights Police Department in New Jersey. In 1988, Major Briganti accepted a position as a police officer with the Boynton Beach Police Department. While assigned to road patrol, Major Briganti worked on the Street Narcotics Team and served as a Field Training Officer. He also worked in the Vice Unit and spent two years with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office Multi-Agency Narcotics Unit. Major Briganti joined the police department's SWAT Team in 1992 and served as the team's commander from 2002 to 2005.

Major Briganti was promoted to sergeant in October 1993. During his tenure in the rank of sergeant, he supervised Road Patrol, Community Patrol, Internal Affairs and Criminal Investigations. He returned to the road as a shift commander in 2002, when he was promoted to the rank of lieutenant.

In 2004, Major Briganti took over command of the Professional Standards Unit, which encompasses Internal Affairs, Training, Grant Writing, Media Relations, Accreditation, policy review and public records requests. He was promoted to major in 2005 and assumed command of Uniform Services.

As Division Commander, Major Briganti oversees the operations of Road Patrol, Traffic, K-9, Marine, SWAT, Community Action Team, Community Redevelopment Agency Police Unit, Crime Prevention and Police Athletic League.

Major Briganti has a Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership from Palm Beach Atlantic University. He received his bachelor's degree in professional administration and communications from Barry University in Miami. He is also a graduate of the command officer's development course at the University of Louisville's Southern Police Institute.
