Not even a global pandemic can stop the Boynton Beach Police Department from bringing holiday joy to children in the community.
Our annual Shop with a Cop program will go on – albeit a little differently. Over the next two weeks, members of the department will shop and deliver toys to 70 students who attend elementary schools in the City of Boynton Beach.
Last month, the students provided us with their wish lists, and on Wednesday and Thursday, we’ll go to Walmart to shop for those items. Next week, we’ll deliver the gifts to the children at school or their home – from a distance of course.
“We would obviously love to have the children here shopping with us, but at least we can still make their holiday wishes come true,” said Officer Rachel Baldino, who oversees the Shop with a Cop program. “We are grateful to all of our community partners who stepped up this year to help us make this happen.”
Sponsors of the Shop with a Cop program include Walmart, the Boynton Woman’s Club and the Kiwanis Club of Boynton Beach, Boynton Leisureville Citizens on Patrol, and State Farm agents Bill Hagen, Billy Williamson, Dave Feick and Rick Limegrover.
