An extensive investigation by Det. First Grade Jill Raftery led to last night’s arrest of a Boynton Beach woman who defrauded an 86-year-old widow out of $87,600.
Leslee Dianne Minnich, 50, of Boynton Beach is charged with exploitation of an elderly person, organized fraud ($50,000 or more) and 36 counts of uttering a forgery. She was taken into custody at 8:10 p.m. her home on Southeast Fifth Circle by members of the Boynton Beach Police Department’s Violent Crimes Task Force.
The investigation determined that Minnich forged 36 checks belonging to an elderly woman whom she was helping with household tasks, including food shopping, light cleaning and getting her mail.
Minnich was taken to the Palm Beach County Jail.
