- Conducting complex investigations involving homicides, sexual assaults, robberies, burglaries, and other major crimes
- Reconstructing events to determine the sequence and nature of criminal activity
- Photographing, collecting, processing, and packaging physical evidence
- Maintaining the BBPD crime lab and ensuring all equipment is ready for immediate deployment
- Preparing detailed reports, diagrams, sketches, and forensic documentation
- Attending and photographing autopsies and coordinating with medical examiners
- Providing expert courtroom testimony and explaining forensic processes in clear, understandable terms
- Staying current on new forensic science discoveries, technologies, and techniques
The Crime Scene Division is essential to building strong, evidence-based cases and achieving successful prosecutions.
