The Boynton Beach Police Department is committed to ensuring that its digital services are accessible to all members of the public, including individuals with disabilities. This website is operated and maintained by the Boynton Beach Police Department. We strive to provide an inclusive online experience and to make our website and digital content usable by the widest possible audience.
Legal Commitment
The Boynton Beach Police Department seeks to comply with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and applicable federal accessibility regulations governing state and local government digital services.
In April 2024, the U.S. Department of Justice issued a final rule updating Title II of the ADA to address accessibility of web content and mobile applications used by state and local governments (28 C.F.R. Part 35). This rule establishes technical requirements for digital accessibility and requires public entities to ensure that their web content and mobile applications are accessible to individuals with disabilities.
Accessibility Standards
To support accessibility, the Boynton Beach Police Department works to align its website and digital content with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.
Compliance with the 2024 DOJ Title II Digital Accessibility Rule
The U.S. Department of Justice’s 2024 Title II rule requires state and local governments to ensure that their web content and mobile applications conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Public entities with populations of 50,000 or more are required to comply with these digital accessibility requirements by April 24, 2026.
The City of Boynton Beach and the Boynton Beach Police Department are working to meet these requirements and continue to review and improve digital services to support compliance with federal accessibility standards.
