A Closer Look

In March 2026, the Boynton Beach Police Department responded to a total of 284 traffic crashes across the city. This month’s report highlights high-risk areas west of Congress Avenue and along the Woolbright Road and Federal Highway corridors. As part of ongoing traffic enforcement efforts, BBPD officers issued 601 citations, 427 warnings, and made 22 DUI arrests during the month.

These insights help us identify trends, focus enforcement efforts, and enhance roadway safety for everyone in our community.

CRIME STATISTICS SUMMARY
In March, the Boynton Beach Police Department continued to see positive trends across several key crime categories. Sexual batteries decreased by 50%, while violent crime dropped by 14% and non-violent crime declined by 19%.

While drug offenses increased by 12% and calls for service rose by 4%, the overall reduction in major crime categories reflects ongoing proactive policing and community engagement efforts.

Year-to-date, these trends continue. Violent crime is down 14% compared to this time last year, with robbery decreasing by 11% and aggravated assault/battery down 7%.

Non-violent crime has also seen a 19% overall decrease year-over-year, driven by significant reductions in key areas. Retail theft is down 40% and motor vehicle theft has decreased by 27%. While burglary has increased by 15%, the overall downward trend highlights the department’s focused enforcement strategies and commitment to crime prevention. So far in 2026, BBPD has responded to 25,645 calls for service.

These continued reductions underscore the department’s dedication to enhancing public safety and addressing emerging challenges within the community.

RTCC & DRONE ACTIVITY
In March, the Boynton Beach Police Department’s Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) and drone program continued to play a critical role in enhancing response and situational awareness. Officers and analysts conducted 190 drone flights, averaging 6.3 flights per day.

Drones were first on scene 49% of the time, providing officers with real-time intelligence and improving response efficiency. Each deployment averaged 11.5 minutes of flight time, supporting operations ranging from active calls to search efforts and scene management.

These capabilities highlight the department’s commitment to leveraging technology to improve public safety outcomes and officer effectiveness.
