BOYNTON BEACH – Come meet your neighborhood police officers and firefighters!
The Boynton Beach Police and Fire Departments will host a Public Safety Expo on Nov. 4, 2017 at the City Hall Complex along Northeast First Avenue.
The event begins with an opening ceremony at 10 a.m. at the Ocean Avenue Amphitheater, followed by demonstrations every hour on the hour from the Boynton Beach Police K9 and SWAT Teams, as well as the Boynton Beach Fire Technical Rescue Team.
“The expo was born from a suggestion a resident made at a Town Hall Meeting,” said Vanessa Snow, assistant police chief. “Our departments jumped at the opportunity to jointly showcase our unique skills with our community.”
In addition to demonstrations, there will be police and fire vehicles and boats on display, child car seat installation, and exhibitors, including the Boynton Beach Police Department Crime Prevention Unit, Boynton Beach Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), American Red Cross, National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, 211 Helpline, Children Services Council of Palm Beach County, OneBlood, Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League and MD Now.
There will be lots of free activities for children, including a bounce house, rock wall, face painting and paint a fire hydrant. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. There will also be an ASL interpreter at the event for our deaf community.
“It’s been over a decade since the City of Boynton Beach’s Public Service Professionals have had the opportunity to coordinate efforts demonstrating how we serve the community,” said Latosha Clemons, deputy fire chief. “This expo will highlight our missions and our commitment to serving the citizens of Boynton Beach.”
