In the first 17 days of the year, Boynton Beach Police have responded to approximately nine incidents of shots being fired in the city.
Police have not received any reports of individuals being struck by gunfire. Investigators are looking into the possibility that the shootings are connected.
“We are deeply concerned about the shootings currently plaguing the city,” Police Chief Kelly Harris said. “Our personnel are working hard to identify the persons involved and swiftly take them into custody. We remain steadfast in our commitment to keeping the community safe.”
Officers have responded to calls of shots fired at the following locations since Jan. 1, 2018:
1400 block of Northwest First Court – Jan. 3, 2018 – 1:02 a.m. and 9:01 a.m.
3000 block Orange street – Jan. 11, 2018 – 10:41 p.m.
100 block E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd – Jan. 12, 2018 – 10 p.m.
300 block Northeast 13th Avenue – Jan. 12, 2018 – 9:50 p.m.
1600 block Northeast Fourth Street – Jan. 15, 2018 – 5:21 p.m.
2000 block Northeast Third Court – Jan. 16, 2018 – 5:36 p.m.
North Federal Highway and Northeast 12th Avenue – Jan. 16, 2018 – 9:53 p.m.
600 block Southwest First Street – Jan. 16, 2017 – 9:53 p.m.
