While working a detail Detective Haas advised he heard about five gunshots coming from south of his location at VRG multiple units canvassed the area south of Gateway Blvd and east of I95 coming back with negative results for any suspects, victims, or evidence.
16-005539 1551hrs DUI/Hit and Run N. Congress Ave/Old Boynton Rd
James Dean Martin was operating his Ford 150 south on Congress Ave when he failed to stop for traffic and struck seven cars that were stopped at a red light on Congress Avenue. Martin attempted to flee west on Old Boynton Rd, however Witnesses and victims were able to detain him until police arrived. No one was injured. Martin is charged with driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license. Martin was TOT PBCJ.
16-00552 1721hrs Burglary to Auto 2002 S. Federal Hwy
Contact was made with the victim who advised her 2013 blue in color Mazda 6 bearing Florida tag # ALKK48 was broken into. Victim stated she parked her unlocked/unsecured vehicle in her assigned marked parking spot # 437 in front of her residence on January 30, 2016 at approximately 1245 hours and returned to it on today’s date at approximately 1715 hours to find the contents of her vehicle in disarray on the seats. Victim advised she conducted an inventory of her vehicle and nothing appeared to be missing or damaged.
16-005575 1902hrs Possession of Marijuana 2700 SE 2nd ST
Officer Worrell conducted a traffic stop on silver Chevy Impala for an inoperable passenger’s side front headlight. Officer Worrell made contact was made with the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, later identified as B/M Corleandre Castor (DOB: 10/2/93), Once contact was made Officer Worrell could smell of suspect marijuana emanating from the interior of his vehicle. A search of his vehicle revealed marijuana in a clear plastic bag, in a cubby hole just below the stereo and dashboard of the vehicle. Castor was placed under arrest for possession of marijuana under 20 grams and released with an N.T.A.
16-005629 2302hrs Fleeing/Eluding 500 W. Woolbright Rd
Officer Castro attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a gray Chevy Cruze FL tag 382HIT for unlawful speed. As soon as Officer Castro activated his emergency equipment the vehicle began to flee west on Woolbright Rd, due to the nature of the crimes Officer Castro terminated the pursuit.
16-005631 2324hrs Fleeing/Eluding 2900 S. Federal Hwy
While Officer A. Vargas was conducted an extra patrol at the Homing Inn, he observed a Gray Chevy Pickup truck FL tag CGZW03 exit the parking lot commit a traffic violation. Officer Vargas then went to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle and when he did the vehicle failed to stop and began to flee north on Federal Hwy. Officer Vargas was able to obtain the tag, which when ran through NCIC/FCIC it was determined that the vehicle was stolen out of PBSO. Due to the nature of the crimes Officer Vargas terminated the pursuit and a BOLO was put out to surrounding agencies.

Victim stated that between 2300 and 0900 hours unknown suspects entered his vehicle and removed a suitcase containing miscellaneous clothing and jewelry. It appears that this auto burglary is connected to two other previous burglaries. See BBPD case numbers 16-005179 and 16-005258
16-005448 0900 hours Burglary Auto 4 Valencia Dr.
Victim stated that between 2200 and 0600 hours unknown suspects entered his unlocked vehicle and removed numerous items including his checkbook and garage door remotes.
16-005452 0930 hours Robbery (Sudden Snatch) 4770 N. Congress (Publix)
Victim stated that he arranged to meet the suspect on Craig’s List to purchase an electronic cigarette device and when he came to the agreed location the subject snatched the money from his hand and ran. The suspect was described as a W/M in his 20’s driving a white newer model Volkswagen Passat 4dr.

Contact was made with victim, who explained that she left her residence secured at approximately 0830 hours this morning to go to work. She returned home at approximately 1630 hours to find her sliding door forcefully opened. Upon entering her home, she advised that the entire residence had been rummaged through. Total approx. loss $484.

Contact was made with victim who advised sometime between 0830hrs and 1725hrs today an unknown person(s) entered her residence via the slider glass door. She advised that they only thing was tampered with was a tote under a bed, but nothing was missing from within.

Victim stated that between 2300 and 0700 hours unknown suspects entered his Dodge pickup and removed a Pioneer Stereo and speakers from the dash. Total Loss $600.

Victim stated that between 2200 and 0600 hours unknown suspects entered his unlocked Honda Accord and removed a black Jimenez Arms J.A.380 semiautomatic handgun (#259372) with 2 loaded magazines in a carrying case.

Victim stated that between 2200 and 0600 hours unknown suspects entered his unlocked vehicle and removed $20 in cash from the center console.

Victim stated that between 2200 and 0600 hours unknown suspects entered his unlocked Honda Accord and removed bank documents and the vehicle title. Total Loss $100.
16005003 1612hours Burglary (Residence) 309 SW 4th St
Victim advised that sometime between 0700 hours and 1600 hours, person(s) unknown entered the residence through an unsecured sliding door and removed three (3) laptop computers and two (2) flat screen televisions. Total loss estimated at $6,600.
16005064 2220hrs Poss. W Intent (Heroin&Cocaine)/Poss. Marijuana/DWLS/ False Name 1000 N Sea
OFC Loshelder initiated a traffic stop for violation of a traffic control device (stop sign). Contact was made with the driver and the occupants. Probable cause was established for a search of the vehicle which yielded 20 clear capsules which contained cocaine and heroin (3.9 grams), and marijuana (3 grams). The driver, b/m Markenley Antoine, was charged with DWLS and Giving False Name. Passenger, b/m Marvin Francois, was charged with Poss. Of Marijuana less than 20 grams. Both released with a Notice to Appear. Passenger, b/m Christopher Diverant, was charged with Poss. With Intent, processed, and later transported to PBCJ.

Victim stated that between 2100 and 0830 hours unknown suspects entered her unlocked Toyota Camry and removed cash and change from the center console. Total Loss $50.
16-004932 0930 hrs Search Warrant 503 SE 23rd Ave.
A citizen complaint was received on the above listed address regarding prostitution and narcotics activity. In response, NIU Agents conducted investigation of the premises which culminated in the obtainment of a search warrant. After execution of the warrant, four subjects (2 males – 2 females) were discovered within. Investigation lead to the arrest of all four subjects for charges ranging from possession of cocaine / scheduled II substances to MM paraphernalia. Two were issued NTA’s while the other two were lodged at the PBCJ. Approx. $1,400 was seized for forfeiture.
