16-026556 1751hrs Burglary to Residence 9818 Nickels Blvd
Contact was made with victim, who explained she left her residence at approximately 1330 hours on today’s date 5/11/16, and did not return until approximately 1730 hours. It was observed that part of the wooden door frame to her front door was broken off as if someone had pried it open, and the door was ajar. After a search of the residence, the victim observed the residence was ransacked and several items were missing from within. Estimated loss $3,363.
16-026624 2135hrs Burglary to Structure 311 NE 14th Ave
Contact was made with victim who stated at about 2058 hours tonight he went into his back yard. While he was out there he noticed his shed door was opened. When he walked over to the shed he noticed his chain lock on the ground and two black tool bags missing. The victim stated the he does have a video surveillance system and at 2051 hours, and unknown white male about six foot, wearing a gray or white hooded sweat shirt with dark hair walked up to the shed and removed three tool bags. Estimated Loss $1,000.
16-026636 2242hrs Fleeing and Eluding 2821 S. Federal Hwy (Homing Inn)
While conducting an Extra Patrol Officer B. Jones and Officer Worrell observed a white Honda van, bearing FL tag GRAJ87 commit a traffic violation. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle, and As Officers Worrell and B. Jones approached the vehicle, the van sped away, traveling northbound on S Federal Highway. Officer Worrell and Jones got back into the patrol vehicle and gave chase after the van. The van continued South on Federal Highway until the 1000 block eventually turning into 1001 S Federal Hwy where both the driver W/M Nicholas Garcia, and the passenger B/M David Jones, exited the vehicle and fled on foot. After a brief pursuit and assistance from other units, both suspects were taken into custody. Garcia was TOT PBCJ. Jones was given an N.T.A.
16-026449 0023 hours Burglary Auto 1115 New Lake Drive (Cove).
Victim reported seeing a suspect burglarizing his vehicle. The victim chased the suspect south and described him as a white male 5’ 10” with shoulder length blond hair, wearing jeans and a white shirt. Officers surrounded the area with negative results. Some of the suspects clothing was recovered at the scene and placed into evidence. One additional burglary was reported in the area.
16-026452 0755 hours Burglary Auto 800 New Lake Drive (Cove).
16-026482 1033 hours Burglary Residence 611 NE 10th Ave
Victim reported unknown suspects burglarized the residence between 1630 and 0900 hours. Entry was gained by prying the lock off the front door. The property is currently vacant and nothing was taken. Burglary tools were recovered at the scene.
