17-054408 0057 hours Poss. Of Contraband w/Intent 1000 Blk Miner Rd.
Captain M. Kelley was on patrol at the aforementioned location when he spotted a black Chrysler 200 traveling in reverse in the wrong lanes of traffic. Kelley affected a traffic stop on the above vehicle; upon making contact with the driver w/m Alexander P Fearon he detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Additional units arrived on scene and both Fearon and passenger w/m Adam Sotzing were detained. Upon searching the vehicle 2,842 grams (6.5 lbs) of marijuana and 4.3 grams of cocaine were discovered inside the vehicle. Being the amount of contraband was so large any reasonable and prudent person would have been aware of the drugs being present inside the vehicle. Due to both parties being culpable in the above incident; they were both arrested and charged with Possession of Contraband with Intent to sale. After being processed at BBPD; $656 was discovered on Fearon which was seized for forfeiture. Both were subsequently tot PBCJ.
17-054235 0308 hours Poss. Of Contraband w/Intent 1200 N. Congress Ave.
While on patrol Officer Vlad Adea spotted a black VW Passet being operated by b/m Kevin Boyzo with an inoperable headlamp. Adea conducted a traffic stop on Boyzo at which point he detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. He subsequently detained Boyzo and searched the vehicle. The search yielded 275 grams of marijuana to wit Boyzo admitted being his. Search incident to arrest yielded a Glock 21 .45 caliber handgun on Boyzo’s person. He was subsequently charged with Possession of Contraband with Intent to sale and Possession of a Firearm while in the commission of a felony. Boyzo also had $1,152 on his person which was seized for forfeiture; he was later processed and tot PBCJ.
