ASSISTANT CHIEF JOSEPH DEGIULIO
UNIFORM SERVICES
Joseph DeGiulio is the Assistant Chief of Uniform Services. He oversees Road Patrol, SWAT, K9, Marine Unit, Community Response Team, Neighbor Officer Program and Police Training Officer Program. He was promoted to assistant chief in May 2017 and supervised the Administrative Services Division.

ASSISTANT CHIEF VANESSA SNOW
SUPPORT SERVICES
Vanessa Snow serves as Assistant Chief of the Support Services Division. She joined the Boynton Beach Police Department as the Administrative Services Division Commander in September 2015. She has over 19 years of law enforcement and executive experience at the municipal, county, and federal levels.
A/C Snow earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida and her juris doctorate from Nova Southeastern University.
As a former school district police officer assigned to schools in Boynton Beach, and later as a command officer overseeing Southern Palm Beach County, she has a great deal of experience working with children and families within the Boynton Beach community.
A/C Snow is also a trained FBI Intelligence Analyst, who during her time with the FBI’s West Palm Beach Office, specialized in domestic terrorism and sovereign citizen activity. She remains proficient in this knowledge and travels the country providing instruction to police agencies and governmental organizations about this topic.
A/C Snow is a member of the Florida Bar and operates a boutique legal firm in which she specializes in property and estate law. A/C Snow also serves as the General Council and Senior Instructor for the School Safety Advocacy Council and specializes in bullying issues and the potential for legal litigation facing both schools and communities in addressing such cases.
Most recently, A/C Snow served as the Support Services Commander for the Riviera Beach Police Department.

MAJOR MICHAEL JOHNSON
UNIFORMED PATROL
Major Mike Johnson began his law enforcement career in Minnesota in 2000. He worked in the jail and as a road patrol officer prior to relocating to Florida in 2005.
Johnson started with the Boynton Beach Police Department in 2005 and worked as a road patrol officer. He was assigned to the narcotics unit from 2006-2008, where he worked both street level and federal investigations with the DEA. Johnson was promoted to sergeant in 2008 and supervised a road patrol shift. In 2013, Johnson implemented the Police Training Officer (PTO) Unit. He supervised the PTO Unit from 2013 until he was promoted to captain in 2015. As a captain, Johnson oversaw the daily operations of a patrol shift and the PTO Unit. While serving as captain, he partnered with a local school and started the first of its kind mentoring program for at-risk youth. He also created and implemented a supervisory mentoring and development program for new supervisors.
In 2017, Johnson was promoted to Major and is currently the Patrol Operations Commander. His responsibilities include patrol operations, the Marine Unit, Traffic Unit, K9, SWAT/HNT, PTO Unit and the Neighborhood Officer Program.
Major Johnson is a graduate of the Southern Police Institute’s Command Officer Development Course and numerous other mid/executive level leadership courses. He holds a B.A in Criminal Justice and a M.S in Public Administration.

CAPTAIN STEVEN BURDELSKI
INVESTIGATIVE SERVICES
Captain Steven Burdelski served with Maryland State Police from 1987 – 1995, when he was hired by the FBI.
During his 20 year career at the FBI, he worked in the Miami, Palm Beach County and Tampa field offices, where he served in numerous supervisory positions. These included, but are most certainly not limited to, overseeing a Joint Terrorism Task Force, administrative oversight of outreach with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies,internal consultant for the FBI, managing emergency response protocols for critical incidents and providing leadership training to hundreds of new supervisors.
He received his undergraduate degree in Law Enforcement from the University of Maryland, and a Master’s of Science in Leadership from Palm Beach Atlantic University.

CAPTAIN MICHAEL KELLEY

CAPTAIN MATT ZELLER
FINANCE & PROCUREMENT
Captain Matthew Zeller started his career with the Boynton Beach Police Department as a Community Service Officer in 2003. Throughout his career he has served as a road patrol officer, motorcycle officer, traffic homicide investigator, and SWAT Team member.
As a sergeant, he worked as a supervisor in the road patrol division. In 2013, he was selected for the position of detective sergeant. He was the direct supervisor over financial crimes, crime scene, evidence, felony forfeiture, towing operations, and animal control. Captain Zeller has also served as the executive officer for retired Police Chief Jeffrey S. Katz. His duties included managing the vehicle fleet, off-duty detail coordinator, and other administrative tasks.
He was promoted to Captain of the Office of Finance and Procurement in July 2015 and oversees all aspects related to administrative efficiency and grant compliance.
Captain Zeller earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Lynn University and a master’s in Public Administration from Barry University. He is also a graduate of the Southern Police Institute Command Officers Development Course.

CAPTAIN MICHAEL KELLEY

STEPHANIE SLATER
MEDIA RELATIONS
Stephanie Slater became the Boynton Beach Police Department’s Public Information Officer in April 2007, following seven years as a newspaper reporter.
A New York native, Slater is a graduate of the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, where she majored in print journalism.
She worked as a breaking news reporter for the Boca Raton News and then the Palm Beach Post, covering police and fire rescue departments in three cities. She authored the Post’s first crime blog, won numerous journalism awards for her work and served a three-year term as president of the Florida Press Club.
As the spokeswoman for the Boynton Beach Police Department, Slater serves as the liaison between the officers, the media and the public. She writes the department’s press releases, manages its Social Media, provides television news interviews, and oversees the department’s awards program. She was honored as the Boynton Beach Police Department’s Civilian Employee of the Year in 2008; Civilian of the Quarter in July 2017 and received the International Association of Chiefs of Police 40 Under 40 award, which recognizes law enforcement professionals from around the world who demonstrate leadership and exemplify commitment to their profession, in October 2017.
She is the President of the National Information Officers Association, and a member of the Florida Law Enforcement Public Information Officers Association. She is an instructor for FBI-LEEDA, teaching media and public relations to law enforcement executives across the country. Slater is a frequent guest speaker about law enforcement’s use of Social Media and has contributed to several textbooks about the topic. She also contributed to a Boston University journalism textbook on public affairs reporting and served on a panel that helped develop a model social media policy for the IACP.

BARBARA RODRIGUEZ MARRERO
VICTIM ADVOCATE
Barbara Rodriguez Marrero began her career focused on substance abuse with the juvenile population at Everglades Correctional Institution.
She also worked as an intensive juvenile probation officer in Miami-Dade. She has also worked with individuals and families providing advocacy, case management services, therapy, educational groups. She has provided outpatient therapy to families, and worked with a variety of offenders for pre-trial diversion. She also served as an advisory council member for a domestic violence organization.
Barbara earned her bachelors of science in Criminal Justice as well as Sociology/Anthropology from Florida International University in Miami. She has also earned a masters of arts in Forensic Psychology from Argosy University in Arlington, VA and is currently working on her dissertation for a PhD in Human Services from Albizu University in Miami.

CHRISTINE NAULTY

Detective Christine Naulty started her career in police work in 2001 with the Philadelphia Police Department. After several years, she relocated to South Florida where she began working with children alongside DCF.
She joined the Boynton Beach Police Department in April 2007 and served as a road patrol officer. She currently works as the department’s Accreditation Manager.
Naulty earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Temple University and is returning to Nova Southeastern University to complete her master’s degree in criminal justice. She is also a member of the hostage negotiation team.

DEANNA RICHARDSON
CRIME ANALYST
Deanna Richardson began her employment with the City of Boynton Beach in 2006 as an administrative associate in Code Compliance. In 2011, she transferred to the Detective Bureau, and in 2014 she was promoted to Crime Analyst. Some of her duties include gathering criminal information, preparing intelligence reports, and analyzing crime patterns and trends. Deanna earned her Associate’s Degree in Psychology from Palm Beach Community College.

Judith Smith has worked for the Boynton Beach Police Department since September 2001. She serves as the department’s court liaison, which includes processing court-related documentation, including subpoenas. She also ensures that all officers attend court and tracks their schedules for court appearances.

LIZ ROEHRICH
ANIMAL CRUELTY
Animal Cruelty Investigator Liz Roehrich is a state certified Animal Control Officer employed by the Boynton Beach Police Department since 1993. Roehrich is a graduate of the Palm Beach Community College Police Auxiliary Academy and the University of Missouri-Columbia Law Enforcement Training Institute’s National Cruelty Investigations School, Level I, II and II, making Roehrich a nationally certified animal cruelty investigator.
Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Roehrich began her career with animals in New Smyrna Beach, Florida at the age of 19. Roehrich has a total of 28 years of experience in the animal care and control field and has made it her mission to ensure the humane treatment and responsible ownership of animals within our city.
Roehrich was the recipient of the Boynton Beach Police Department’s Civilian of the Year award in 2007 and 2013, and the prestigious Palm Beach County Association of Chiefs of Police Support Services Person of the Year award in 2007. Roehrich has a passion for animal welfare and strongly believes all living beings should be treated with kindness and respect..

SGT. CHARLES TURCO
OFF-DUTY DETAILS
Sgt. Charles Turco began his law enforcement career with the Boynton Beach Police Department in November 2000. He is currently assigned to Administrative Services as the Executive Sergeant, where his responsibilities include the scheduling of off-duty details and management of the department’s fleet.
Prior to this assignment, Sgt. Turco was a Road Patrol Supervisor. He has also served as a Police Training Officer, and worked in the Traffic Unit as a DUI officer, aggressive driving officer and motorcycle officer. He was also a member of the SWAT Team and Honor Guard…

DANIEL CLINE
EVIDENCE
Evidence Specialist Daniel Cline has proudly been a member of the Boynton Beach Police Department since February 2005. He faithfully served and protected the citizens of the community as a road patrol officer for eight years.
In 2011, he assumed the civilian position of Evidence Specialist wherein he protects property that comes into his custody and preserves the evidence that is crucial to the prosecution of the criminal cases.
Cline attended the Pat Thomas Law Enforcement Academy in Tallahassee, Florida, while earning his Bachelor of Science in Criminology from the Florida State University. Go Noles!
