The driver of a motorcycle involved in a crash on Sunday morning in Boynton Beach died as a result of his injuries this morning at Delray Medical Center.
Phillip Frossard, 18, of Boynton Beach, was ejected from his black 2003 Kawaski motorcycle after it struck a gray 2012 BMW 750Li in the 1700 block of North Congress Avenue at around 10 a.m. A 17-year-old passenger on the motorcycle was also thrown from the vehicle. The driver of the BMW, Joseph Gray, 39, of Boynton Beach, was not injured. He told traffic homicide investigators that he was traveling south on North Congress Avenue and entered the left turn lane to travel east onto Renaissance Drive. He observed the motorcycle in the distance traveling north in the center lane of North Congress Avenue. Gray said that given the distance of the motorcycle, he proceeded to make a left turn onto Renaissaince Drive. He was about to clear the outside northbound lane of travel when the motorcycle struck the BMW’s right rear tire.
Investigators believe speed was a factor in the cause of the crash. Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call Traffic Homicide Investigator Dennis Castro at 561-742-6147.
