The Police Explorer Program is open to young men and women ages 14 (who have completed the 8th grade) through 20 who are interested in exploring a career in law enforcement. This interactive program, led by Boynton Beach Police Officers, provides participants with a unique opportunity to gain insight into the field while developing valuable personal and professional skills.
Through a combination of educational training and hands-on experience, Explorers learn about the purpose, mission, and objectives of law enforcement. The program emphasizes career orientation, leadership development, and community service, helping participants build a strong foundation for future success.
The primary goal of the Police Explorer Program is to guide young adults in choosing a potential career path in law enforcement while encouraging them to become responsible, engaged citizens within their communities and the nation.
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be between the ages of 14 (having completed 8th grade) and 20
- Be actively enrolled in an educational institution
- Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0
- Demonstrate strong moral character
- Successfully pass a comprehensive background check
- Complete fingerprint verification
Participants in the Police Explorer Program will have the opportunity to:
