The Boynton Beach Police Athletic League (PAL) is a community-based initiative focused on building positive relationships between youth and law enforcement through sports, mentorship, and educational opportunities. PAL creates a safe, supportive environment where young people can participate in structured activities that encourage teamwork, leadership, discipline, and personal growth.

The program offers a variety of free recreational and athletic opportunities, including:

  • Basketball
  • Boxing
  • Girls Flag Football
  • And more youth-focused programs throughout the year

These programs are led by dedicated police officers, coaches, and community volunteers who are committed to mentoring local youth and serving as positive role models.

Through athletics and engagement, PAL helps guide young people toward making positive life choices while strengthening trust between the police department and the community. The program is centered on empowering youth, promoting healthy lifestyles, and creating pathways for success both on and off the field.

The Boynton Beach Police Department Police Athletic League, in partnership with Lights Out Boxing and Fitness, offers a free boxing program for local youth, ages 8 to 18. Children will learn boxing basics, discipline, and teamwork, providing growth both inside and outside the ring. No experience is needed, and all equipment is provided. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. 

The Police Athletic League Travel Basketball Team is a competitive youth program for boys and girls ages 13–14, running from February through April. The team consists of approximately 12–15 players who participate in organized practices and travel games, focusing on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and discipline. This program provides a structured and supportive environment that promotes athletic growth, character building, and positive community engagement through basketball.
The Police Athletic League Girls Flag Football Travel League is a competitive program for youth ages 9–14, running from March through June. The league features two travel teams with a total of approximately 30 participants who compete in organized games and practices. The program emphasizes skill development, teamwork, confidence-building, and sportsmanship, while providing a positive and supportive environment that encourages physical activity and community involvement.
The Police Athletic League Youth Football Clinic is a large-scale summer program serving approximately 200 participants ages 5–18. This clinic provides structured instruction in fundamental football skills, fitness, and game concepts, tailored to a wide range of age and experience levels. Emphasizing teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship, the program creates a fun and inclusive environment where youth can build confidence, stay active, and develop both athletic ability and positive character traits.
The Police Athletic League Youth Football Clinic is a large-scale summer program serving approximately 200 participants ages 5–18. This clinic provides structured instruction in fundamental football skills, fitness, and game concepts, tailored to a wide range of age and experience levels. Emphasizing teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship, the program creates a fun and inclusive environment where youth can build confidence, stay active, and develop both athletic ability and positive character traits.
The Police Athletic League Lacrosse Clinic is a seasonal program for youth ages 8–18, held during the spring and summer. Serving approximately 20 participants, the clinic focuses on developing fundamental lacrosse skills, game knowledge, and overall athletic ability. Participants benefit from hands-on instruction in a supportive environment that emphasizes teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth while promoting active and healthy lifestyles.
The Police Athletic League All-Star Basketball Travel Team/College Showcase is a summer program for elite players ages 17–19, featuring a roster of approximately 10–12 participants. The team travels to compete in high-level events, including a college showcase in New York City, providing athletes with exposure to collegiate scouts and recruitment opportunities. The program emphasizes advanced skill development, competition, teamwork, and preparation for the next level of play, while fostering discipline, leadership, and personal growth.
The Police Athletic League Back-to-School Supply Drive and Giveaway is a community-focused program held in August to support local students as they prepare for the new school year. This initiative provides essential school supplies to families in need, helping ensure students are equipped for academic success. The program promotes community engagement, support, and positive outreach while easing the financial burden on families and encouraging a strong start to the school year.
The Police Athletic League Cookout with the Cops Basketball Tournament is a community-centered event for youth ages 14–18, held in February and serving approximately 40–50 participants. This program combines friendly basketball competition with a cookout, creating an engaging environment that fosters positive relationships between youth and law enforcement. Emphasizing teamwork, sportsmanship, and community connection, the event promotes trust, mentorship, and active participation in a fun and supportive setting.
The Police Athletic League 7-on-7 Basketball Tournament Fundraiser is a large-scale event for youth ages 8–18, held in January and serving approximately 200–300 participants. This tournament combines competitive play with fundraising efforts to support PAL programs and initiatives. Participants engage in fast-paced games that promote skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship, while the event fosters community involvement and helps generate resources to benefit youth programming.
