19-000387 2247 hours Overdose Non-Fatal 1810 S Federal Hwy
W/M was located overdosing in the bathroom of the restaurant. He was transported to Bethesda East where he was being treated and released.
19-000408 0030 hours Burglary/Poss of Heroin/Warrant Arrest 3101 S Federal Hwy
W/M Mark Skwirut was arrested after investigation revealed he pried open the door of the business in order to make entry. Search incident to arrest revealed Skwirut to be in possession of heroin and paraphernalia. A records check additionally revealed Skwirut to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Skwirut was TOT PBCJ.
19-000412 0116 hours Resisting Arrest N Congress Ave & Hypoluxo Rd
Officer Wertman conducted a traffic stop on a blue Lexus bearing FL tag BKWF40 for multiple traffic infractions. Upon coming to a stop, the driver and front seat passenger immediately took flight from vehicle. The passenger B/M Franklin Poulina was later located in Boynton Lakes North and identified by Officer Wertman. Located inside the vehicle on the driver side was a loaded handgun that was reported stolen out of our city (18-057891). The driver was not located. Poulina was issued a NTA.
19-000417 0231 hours Possession of Cocaine 1400 N Seacrest Blvd
Officer Rivera conducted a traffic stop on a black in color VW Jetta for a traffic infraction. During the stop, probable cause was established to search the vehicle. Crack cocaine was located on the passenger of the vehicle W/F Chloe Venable who was ultimately placed under arrest. Venable TOT PBCJ.
19-199 Burglary Attempt 412 E Ocean Ave. 0639 hours
Owner of business was alerted of an alarm at the business at 0035 hours by her alarm company. She checked the interior cameras and did not see anyone so cancelled the alarm. Upon arrival at the business she located a broken window to the bathroom.
19-204 Burglary Auto 102 W. Ocean Ave. 0728 hours
Overnight to a 2014 Nissan Altima. Vehicle was unlocked and suspect removed a flashlight from the center console.
