18-041805 Armed Robbery – Agg. Assault 801 N. Congress Ave 2045 hours
Officers were dispatched to the parking lot of the Mall in response to an armed robbery. Officers met with a female who reported to have been robbed at gun point in the parking lot of Macy’s. The victim described the suspect as a black male wearing a white tank top, blue jeans, white baseball hat, sunglasses, and a gray bandana covering his nose and mouth. The male came from a gray older model Nissan Altima 2-door Coupe that was parked next to the victim’s vehicle. The victim said the suspect pointed a silver handgun at her as he demanded the victim’s purse. A nearby pedestrian came to the victim’s aid during the incident, the suspect pointed the handgun at the pedestrian who immediately backed away. The two victims were not injured during the incident. The suspect and suspect’s vehicle were last seen heading southbound through the mall parking lot towards Old Boynton Rd.
18-041819 Fleeing & Eluding / DWLS 1600 S. Seacrest Blvd 2218 hours
Officers attempted a traffic stop on a black Honda Civic bearing FL tag JJK-I81. The vehicle fled from officers southbound on Seacrest Blvd at a high rate of speed. The officers terminated their efforts as the vehicle entered the City Of Delray Beach. The description of the driver and fleeing vehicle was forwarded to Delray Beach PD. Officers from BBPD CRT were in the area and spotted the vehicle in Delray Beach on Seacrest Blvd just south of Gulfstream Blvd. The officers used the advantage of their unmarked vehicle and continued to watch the vehicle as the driver stopped at a nearby gas station. Officers surveilled the vehicle as it traveled through Delray Beach until the arrival of Delray Beach PD officers. A traffic stop was conducted by DBPD and the driver surrendered to DBPD. Officer Schalk who conducted the initial stop responded to Delray Beach and positively identified w/m Michael Santana 05/13/64 as the driver of the fleeing vehicle. Santana was placed under arrest and processed at BBPD. Santana was later turned over to the Palm Beach County Jail.
18-41646 Shooting into occupied dwelling 410 NE 26th Ave 0442 hours
Units responded to the above location in reference to a possible shooting. Residents report they were all sleeping when they heard multiple gunshots outside the residence and hearing vehicle speed off. Shell casings were located in the street and 3 projectiles were found in the house. Family stated they had no relation to the earlier shooting.
18-41674 Burglary Business 2821 S. Federal Hwy 0834 hours
Delayed to the office. Change from the cash drawer, two DVR’s were taken.
Units conducted extra patrols at all elementary schools and Congress Middle School at the beginning and the end of the school day for the first day of school.
