BBPD units responded to the residence in reference to a found hand grenade inside the residence. The caller stated that he was cleaning the residence of a deceased relative with his brother when they located a hand grenade in some property. The PBSO Bomb Squad responded and took custody of the grenade.
16-004369 1028hrs Burglary (Residence) 3100 Fernwood Dr.
Victim stated that suspect(s) entered his residence sometime between 01/24/16 at 1715hrs and today’s date at 1015hrs and stole property from within.
16-004381 1127hrs Burglary (Residence) 503 N. Seacrest Blvd.
Victim stated that unknown suspect(s) entered the residence and stole the air handler as well as the exterior A/C compressor sometime between 01/23/2016 and today’s date.
16-04196 0829hrs Traffic Crash (THI Call Out) Quantum & Gateway Blvd.
A Toyota and Impala were involved in a traffic crash in which no one from either vehicle were injured. However, during the accident, the Impala hit a pedestrian who was crossing in the crosswalk on the south side of Gateway. Due to what was thought to be serious injuries at the time, FD called trauma. THI and Crime Scene responded and took over the crash investigation. It was later determined at Delray Hospital that the pedestrian did sustain cuts and bruises but no broken bones or life threatening injuries.
16-004071 Grand Theft Auto – Delayed 1887 W. Woolbright Road
Officers met with victim who reported that an unknown person(s) stole his unsecure White 2015 Mercedes CLA250 4door bearing FL 402QNF as it was parked at the aforesaid location.
16-004086 Vehicle Burglary – Delayed 4227 N. Congress Avenue
Officers met with victim who reported that sometime between January 23rd at 0930 hours and 1715 hours; an unknown person(s) smashed the driver side window of his Black 2003 Acura TL bearing FL 388NBS and stole several personal items (i.e. iPad/headphones/etc.) from therein.
16-004092 Grand Theft Auto – Delayed 1881 NE 2nd Lane
Officers met with victim who reported that a “friend” only known as “Nasha” failed to return his Gray 2003 Toyota Camry 4door bearing FL 859PEC in a timely manner. Note: the keys should be with the vehicle.
16-004161 Fleeing & Eluding/DWLS – Arrest 1500 N. Federal Highway
Officer Alergria attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a black Mitsubishi Galant bearing FL 751RZC for a traffic violation; however, the driver later identified as B/M Bardanard T. Desanges, failed to immediately stop and took a series of evasive turns to avoid apprehension. Based on everything known, Officer Alergria terminated any and all efforts to stop the subject vehicle. A short time later, Officers located the subject vehicle in the 1500 block of N. Federal Highway and attempted a second traffic stop; at which time, the subject vehicle stopped in the parking lot of Inlet Inn. After the subject vehicle came to a stop, the passenger took flight running eastbound – In a collaborative effort, Bravo 3/4 officers quickly responded and set up a perimeter in preparation for K9 Officer Brown to deploy K9 Filip; however, their combined efforts gleaned negative results for locating the second occupant/passenger. The driver, Desanges, was criminally charged with Fleeing and Eluding, Driving w/ a Suspended Driver’s License, and Drug Paraphernalia. Later, Desanges was transported to the Palm Beach County Jail, without incident.
16-04006 0942 hrs Burglary Residence 242 SE 2nd Ave.
Victim reported two Focus Izalco racing bicycles were stolen from the residence between 01/22 at 1700 hours and 0942 this morning.
16-04056 1429 hrs Residential Fire 6 Hastings Ln.
Officers responded to the residence reference the occupant advising a residential fire. Upon arrival, officers observed the house partially engulfed and several small explosive sounds from within. Occupant advised residence was vacated. Nearby residences were evacuated due to close proximity. Fire Rescue responded and put the fire out. No injuries reported.
16-03807 0547 hrs Stolen Freight Truck/Recovery 1475 W. Gateway Blvd.
Victim parked a 2015 Freightliner truck and trailer in the parking lot of Hampton inn at 1900 hours and returned at 0530 hours to discover the truck stolen. Trailer was left behind since victim detached it previous night. The GPS locater was activated later and at 0646 hours the vehicle was located at 1801 Hypoluxo Rd. Upon vehicle recovery, unknown suspects had removed all of the vehicle’s tires and rims, leaving the vehicle propped up on jack-stands. The tires and rims are valued at $10,000. Theft occurred at Hampton Inn at approximately 0024 hours.

A license plate of NY # BZF2673 was stolen from a black 1999 Mercedes CLK 320.
16-03865 1241 hrs Burglary Residence 3171 Grove Rd.
Victim left the residence at 1000 hours and returned at 1200 hours, leaving his front door unlocked. Upon return, he discovered several electronics and a watch was missing from within.
16-03869 1314 hrs Burglary Occupied Residence/Fleeing & Eluding 335 SE 36th Ave.
Victim reported exiting from a shower and discovered a W/M breaking into his residence. The suspect fled to a silver Chevrolet Malibu and entered the driver’s seat as the lone occupant. Vehicle was last seen driving westbound towards Seacrest Blvd. Officer Schalk located the suspect vehicle and it headed north on I-95 from E. Woolbright Rd., but not before it appeared to intentionally drive head on towards Officer Haugh’s vehicle. Vehicle then exited Gateway Blvd. and headed south on NW 1st St., subsequently stopping at 2000 block NW 2nd St. The suspect exited the vehicle and ran. A perimeter was established and Delray Beach K-9 responded to assist in the search of the area with negative results. No vehicle or property damage. Dbureau responded.
16-003747 1903hrs Stolen Auto 3001 N. Seacrest Blvd (KWIK Stop)
Contact was made with victim who stated he was driving a 2013 Silver Chevy Malibu (FL tag#EDFQ68). He parked the vehicle while leaving it running with the keys in the ignition. Once he entered the store, an unidentified B/M entered the vehicle and drove away in an unknown direction on Seacrest Boulevard. The vehicle was entered into N/FCIC as stolen.
16-003748 1924hrs Suspicious Incident/ Shots Fired 280 North Atlantic Drive
Multiple units responded to the area of North Atlantic Drive in reference to possible gun shots fired. An anonymous caller advised they heard approximately 4 shots fired however they could not advise on the exact location. Units canvassed the area for shell casings which yielded negative results. Hospitals checked, however negative results regarding possible victims.
16-003756 1943hrs Burglary to Residence (Cat Type) Grove Park RD
Victim advised at 1400 hours she observed two subjects inside the back porch area of the property. The victim was standing in the living room area, and described the subjects as young B/M’s both approximately 5’06” in height. One of the subjects was heavyset, and the other was described as thin. Once they saw her in the living room area, they quickly exited through a hole they had cut in the patio screen enclosure (damage approximately $50).
