16018851 1909 hours Trf Complaint (ATV’s) / Shots Fired 100 block of NE 16th Ave
BBPD received multiple reports of ATV’s racing around city streets. Officers located a group of approximately 30 individuals terrorizing the city streets. Upon seeing officers, they began to flee through yards and multiple city property areas. Upon racing through the 100 block of NE16th Ave., individuals within the large group began firing rounds. Officers set a perimeter and were able to secure the area. Multiple casings were recovered in the roadway. In order to try and disperse the crowd, BBPD officers issued multiple parking citations, towed vehicles from city sidewalks, along with one vehicle that had multiple bullet holes along with narcotics that were recovered from within. No victims were located. Code Compliance was also notified about multiple junk vehicles that were observed in driveways (#16018859).
16018869 2102 hours Accident (Fatality) 3513 S Federal Hwy
Officers responded to the above location in reference to a traffic accident, motorcycle vs a truck. Upon arrival, both occupants of the motorcycle were deceased and the truck had rolled over with the driver trapped inside. FD had to utilize the jaws of life to remove the truck driver who was transported to Delray Trauma. THI, Crime Scene, and Medical Examiner responded.
16-18760 1023 hours Burglary V.R.G. Clubhouse 2161 NE 1st Ct.
Unknown person burglarized the clubhouse between 2130 hours last night and 1015 hours this morning and stole a key ring with several keys that give access to the lawn/pool equipment storage, offices, and sheds. Additionally, resident spare keys for several buildings were also stolen. HOA president was advised to have the locks changed for HOA property and they advised they were notifying the owners of missing keys. Extra Patrol added to log.
16-18555 0341 hours Burglary In-Progress – Failed to Stop 425 Tiffany Oaks Way.
A complainant advised dispatch that there was a red pickup truck, with parking lights on, stopped in the cul-de-sac and a B/M, wearing a gray hoodie, were opening vehicle doors. An additional two males joined him and they got into the vehicle and left the area. Officer Melo located the vehicle (red Ford F150 with FL tag # D170GD) driving north on S. Federal Hwy. from Gulfstream Blvd. He activated his lights and siren to signal the vehicle to stop, but the vehicle would not. The officer’s attempt to stop it was terminated and the vehicle was last seen driving westbound on Woolbright Rd.
16018514 1812 hours Burglary (Residence) Via De Casas Norte
Victim reported that between the hours of 0745 and 1800 that unknown person(s) entered the residence through a rear window. While inside, the intruder appeared to have used the restroom and drank a bottle of wine. The victim also reported that there were two handguns missing from a bedroom closet. The weapons are described as an unknown caliber Ruger and a Keltec .357, unknown serial numbers. Total loss estimated at $900.
16-18043 1450 hours Stolen Tag 300 SW 12th Ave.
FL tag # 0256RU was reported stolen from a 2007 Honda CBR600 motorcycle between 0300 and 1400 hours on 03/30/16. Tag entered N/FCIC.
16-018342 0031hrs Fleeing and Eluding R/A without violence 2117 SE 2nd St
While on patrol, Sergeant Turco observed a white Ford Pick Up truck traveling south on Federal Hwy at a high rate speed. Sergeant Turco was able to get behind the vehicle and paced it at approx. 80mph. Sergeant Turco attempted to conduct a traffic stop for the traffic infraction. As soon as his emergency equipment was activated, the vehicle continued to travel south and then west on SE 21st Ave attempting to flee. The vehicle pulled into the driveway of 2177 SE 1st St and the driver exited and began to flee on foot. Sergeant Turco gave chase and was able to restrain Josh Cochenour, 32, however when he attempted to detain him, he began to actively resist and requested backup. Once two other units arrived, those officers and Sergeant Turco were finally able to get Cochenour into custody. He was charged with felony fleeing and attempting to elude and taken to the Palm Beach County Jail.
