18-009373 2005 hours Shots Fired 308 SE 21st Ave.
Units responded to the aforementioned address in reference to shots fired. Upon arrival they located five spent .40 caliber shell casings. Local hospitals were checked for victims; which, yielded negative results. No witnesses or investigative leads were gleaned during the above incident.
18-009405 0002 hours Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling 915 SW 3rd St.
Units responded to the aforementioned address in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, units located four spent 9mm shell casings in the roadway. The residence was struck four times; one projectile was recovered from the homes exterior. The resident was sleeping at the time of the shooting and did not witness the incident. One witness on scene advised there was a Black Dodge Charger fleeing the area after the shooting.
Units responded to multiple calls regarding the railroad crossing arms malfunctioning and for traffic issues due the construction at W Boynton Beach Blvd and Winchester Blvd.
18-009157 1923 hours Possession of Contraband 2600 NW 1st Street
NIU agents, D-Bureau, and K-9 conducted a traffic stop on a blue 2012 Ford Mustang bearing FL tag IPSY34 for speeding. The driver of the car B/M James C Derose DOB 11-14-83 had never been issued a driver’s license and his driving privileges had been suspended. Officers also detected the smell of marijuana in the car and located 1.1 grams of marijuana on the passenger seat. In the center console of the car was a plastic bag containing a bluish powder which tested positive for methamphetamine. Derose was processed and sent to county jail.
18-009187 2055 hours Possession of Contraband 200 NW 14th Avenue
NIU agents, D-Bureau, and K-9 attempted a traffic stop on a red 2004 Buick Century bearing FL temp tag CDC0401 for speeding. As soon as they activated their lights, the driver later identified as B/M Sherman L Griffin DOB 06-12-92 threw a plastic bag containing a white powder out the window. Griffin initially failed to stop but eventually pulled over in the 1300 block of N Seacrest Blvd. As officers were arresting Griffin he admitted to throwing a small bag of weed from the car. Officers retraced the path and discovered a plastic bag containing a white powder in the roadway in front of 1490 NW 1st (exactly where he was observed discarding it). The powder tested positive for cocaine and weighed 26 grams. Griffin was processed and sent to county jail.
18-009225 2359 hours Possession of Contraband 100 SE 27th Way
W/M John T Horton DOB 02-10-93 was arrested for possession of marijuana <20 grams following a traffic stop. Horton was processed and released with an NTA.
18-009226 0006 hours Possession of Contraband 8121 Lawrence road
B/M Kirby J Saint-Louis DOB 02-18-97 was arrested for possession of marijuana <20 grams after he was found smoking a “blunt” inside his vehicle in a closed park (Knollwood Park). Saint-Louis was processed and released with an NTA.
18-009040 0730 hours Burglary Auto 902 SW 27th place.
Victim reported that unknown suspects entered her unlocked vehicle and removed KAHR .380 handgun, a laptop and an Ipad.
17-009058 0835 hours Burglary Auto 561 Manatee Bay Drive.
Victim reported that unknown suspects entered his unlocked vehicle and removed Ipod and miscellaneous items.
18-08908 1432 hours Loitering & Prowling Arrest 1721 Stonehaven Dr.
A 17yoa Juvenile male was arrested after he was found in possession of several stolen items that he obtained from breaking into several vehicles in the area. Subject could not offer a reasonable explanation for his presence or why he had stolen property. Several victims were located, but they did not want to prosecute for burglaries. NTA’d and TOT Parent.
18-08937 1709 hours Overdose Death 815 W. Boynton Beach Blvd.
Male adult was discovered as deceased on a welfare check after concerns from friends indicated the subject was a recovering drug addict and he had not shown up for work.
18-08947 1842 hours Strong Arm Robbery 1919 N. Seacrest Blvd.
Victim advised a B/M wearing a white shirt, black shorts, 6 ft tall, muscular build, and short hair, stole his wallet from his hand as he was getting into his vehicle. A brief struggle for the wallet occurred, but the suspect escaped with it and was last seen running east bound on NE 19th Ave.
