17-018540 Disorderly Intoxication 4905 Park Ridge Blvd 2347hrs
Officers responded to the WaterShed in reference to a disturbance. Officers were alerted to a verbal dispute between an intoxicated male and Watershed Staff. The male was being disruptive and belligerent with the staff. The facility staff requested that the male be removed from the property. In the process of escorting the male from the property, The male offered active physical resistance in return. One Officer deployed his Taser which was effective and the male was taken into custody for disorderly intoxication / Resisting LEO without violence. The male was medically cleared and was later turned over to PBCJ.

Victim reported his rental vehicle which he described as a black 2017 Mazda CX-5 bearing Virginia VGT4833 stolen from the above residence. Vehicle was last seen last night between the hours of 0100 and 0400 hrs. Victim left the keys in the center console. Vehicle entered into F/NCIC.

17-018197 Heroin Trafficking/CCF 1100 NW 4th Street 1050hrs
While responding to a disturbance, K-9 Officer Sohn was flagged down by female where she indicated to him that Eric Scruggs was at the above location sitting inside a red Toyota Corolla. The female advised Ofc Sohn that Eric was in possession of narcotics and a firearm. Ofc Sohn made contact with Scruggs to conduct an investigative stop. Scruggs refused to comply with Ofc Sohn’s lawful commands which resulted in force being used to get him to his knees to comply. Scruggs was found to be in possession of 10.9 grams of Heroin, a loaded Ruger LCP .380 handgun which was stolen, and $959 cash. Scruggs was charged with Trafficking Heroin, Poss. w/ Intent to Sell Heroin 1000ft of convenience store, CCF, and Poss. of a Firearm during commission of a felony. Scruggs was later TOT PBCJ.
17-018197 Overdose (fatal) 2980 SE 2nd St 1325hrs
Officers responded to the above address in reference to a male who appeared deceased. Officers along with Fire Rescue confirmed that the patient was deceased in his bedroom. There were signs and evidence of an apparent overdose. Detective Bureau notified along with Crime Scene. Medical Examiner notified as well. Elite Removal responded and recovered the body.

Officers responded to the above location in reference to an auto burglary in progress. Victim reported exiting the gas station and observing a black male later identified as John Emanuel Austin stealing five dollars from the arm rest compartment. Austin fled the scene as the victim contacted Police. Officers were able to locate Austin walking along NE 20th Ave. Austin was positively identified and taken into custody without incident. TOT PBCJ.

Victim reported his white 2014 Infinity Q60 bearing FL 498KBH stolen from the above residence. Vehicle was last seen at midnight last night parked in the driveway of the residence. Vehicle entered into F/NCIC.
17-018197 Poss. Contraband/Attempted Homicide suspect 1799 N Congress Ave 1001hrs
Business contacted Police reference a male that had been sleeping at the establishment since 0500 hrs and refusing to leave. Officers made contact with B/M Benito Felipe Crisanto. While on scene, officers immediately determined that Crisanto was wanted in reference to the Attempted Homicide case from a few nights ago. (BBPD 17-017389). After officers took Crisanto into custody, he was found to be in possession of 8.2 grams of marijuana. Detectives notified of apprehension and conducted interview with Crisanto. He was later TOT PBCJ.

Officers and EMS responded and located w/m suffering from an apparent overdose. Life saving measures were administered, he regained consciousness, and was later transported to Bethesda for further treatment.

17018138 2252 hours Grand Theft Auto High Ridge and Hypoluxo Rd
Officers observed a 2016 Dodge Charger, 4 doors, black in color, operating in a reckless manner and traveling at a very high speed. Prior to officers, initiating a traffic stop and obtaining the registration, the vehicle struck another vehicle at the intersection of Hypoluxo Rd and I-95 and then struck the concrete retaining wall, which caused all airbags to deploy, while crushing in the front of the vehicle and the driver’s side door. Both occupants were detained. The vehicle was then discovered to be stolen out of Lantana. The driver, identified as b/m Aaron Osborne dob 04/05/1994, was medically cleared and arrested on charges of GTA. He was later lodged at PBCJ. PBSO responded in reference to the traffic collision.

Officers responded to the above listed location in reference to a male slumped over the wheel. Upon arrival, officers along with Fire Rescue determined that there was not a medical emergency with the driver who was identified as Willie Lee Simms. While on scene, Officers observed Simms concealing a small bag of Heroin. As officers attempted to take Simms into custody, Simms resisted arrested and was taken to the ground where he was handcuffed. Simms was charged with Poss of Heroin (.2 grams) and Resisting Arrest w/o Violence. No reported injuries.
