Officers responded to the playground area extinguished a small fire in a garbage can and the side of a palm tree. Damage was minimal. Sir to follow.
16-064856 23:46 hours 140 W. Ocean Avenue Burglary Res Non/Force
Victim advised she left her residence at 18:00 hours and when she returned at 22:30 hours the residence had been rummaged through and numerous items (fifty inch Samsung television, Hp Notebook laptop, and a Song Play station) taken. Entry was made through an open kitchen window.
16064789- 1317 hours Burglary (Vehicle) 2651 NE 1st Court
Victim reported that an unknown person burglarized her unlocked 2005 red Jeep Cherokee bearing NJ tag YPB19L. The glove compartment and center console were opened, and the contents of each were on the driver and passenger side seats and floor. an inventory check of the vehicle revealed that nothing appeared to be missing, however she will re-check to verify that is the case.
Units conducted pro-active burglary suppression patrols in the shopping areas along the Congress and Federal Highway corridors.
16-064746 Fire (City Towing) 421 NE 7th Avenue 01:46 hours
BBPD units responded to City Towing in reference to a confirmed structure fire. BBPD units arrived on scene and assisted BBFR in traffic control. FPL notified; scene turned over to Fire Marshall.
16064589- 0728 hours Burglary (Compound) Renaissance Commons Blvd.
Foreman reported that someone entered the construction site at this address and stole a Wacken Neuson dirt compactor ($1,000), 2 generators ($1,000 total), 2 hammer drills ($300 total), 2 Dewalt drills ($500 total), 1 chipping hammer ($600), and 1 chop saw ($250). He stated the tools were all stored inside a storage container, and that the locking mechanism had been cut off. Total loss is estimated at $3,650.
16064596- 0858 hours Theft (Other) 801 N. Congress Ave.
Victim reported that a green Sunbelt wood chipper, that he had rented to complete a landscaping job at the Mall, was removed from the south parking lot of JC Penney by an unknown person. The chipper was valued at approximately $30,000. The owner of the chipper, Sunbelt Rentals in Oakland Park, FL, was made aware of the incident.
16064634- 1225 hours Burglary (Shed) 640 SE 2nd Ave. #212
Victim reported that his red tool box containing Matco brand impact sockets (8mm-24mm), a digital air gauge, miscellaneous ratchets, a star bit set size (T4-T40), was taken by an unknown person from a communal storage unit on the ground floor of this complex. The storage unit did not have a lock on the door, and is used by multiple people. Total loss is estimated to be $1,000.
Honor Flight participants were escorted along northbound I-95 through the City by members of law enforcement. Law Enforcement and Fire-Rescue personnel manned the overpasses to show their respects to these veterans, as the escort passed.
Members of the A1-2 Platoon joined Crime Prevention Unit Officers, Professional Standards Commander A/C Harris, and PIO Stephanie Slater, for a Coffee-With-a-Cop Event at the McDonald’s 1810 South Federal Highway.
16-064550 2043 hours Burglary Residence 2201 Mahogany Drive #201.
Victim stated someone entered their residence between 0900 and 2000 hours and removed a flat screen television, a laptop and jewelry. There was no forced entry and the victim suspects a former roommate who may have had a key.
16-064566 2318 hours Armed Robbery 2800 High Ridge Road (Tri-Rail).
Victim reported that seven juveniles robbed him at gunpoint. During the robbery one suspect pistol whipped him, causing injury. A perimeter was set and all seven were taken into custody as they attempted to break the perimeter. Victim positively identified the suspects the two suspects that were armed and took his belongings. Two of the suspects were apprehended by the K-9 unit and were treated at the hospital. A semi-automatic pistol was recovered from one of the suspects. Victim was transported to JFK.
The shift experienced two non-fatal overdoses at both KFC locations.

Victim reported that someone shattered the front door of The Causeway Coin Laundry and took the cash register and two buckets containing rolls of quarters.
16064467- 1439 hours Robbery (Sudden Snatch) 801 N. Congress Ave.
Victim reported that as she was looking for her vehicle in the parking lot of Macy’s, a tall white male with dirty blonde hair offered to assist her. The w/m suddenly snatched the victim’s purse, and ran to a green Nissan Maxima that had tinted windows. The suspect fled eastbound on Old Boynton Road in this car. No injuries were reported, and there are no known suspects. The loss has yet to be determined.

16-064364 2356 hours 3000 SE 1st Place AOD to BBFR
BBFR and Officers responded in reference to a fire. Resident was charging a Hover board on his bed when it exploded and caught the mattress on fire. The resident dragged the burning mattress through the house and outside to the rear patio. He then threw the mattress into the swimming pool to extinguish the flames. No injuries reported.

2016 silver Polaris motorcycle bearing FL MBYI14 was taken from Las Ventanas overnight.
16-64227 Overdose not fatal 1521 Stonehaven #6 1335hrs
Woman overdosed and was subsequently revived. She declined to provide any additional information.
