Police are investigating a traffic crash that sent three people to the hospital early Wednesday, one with critical injuries.
The crash occurred around 4:46 a.m. at the intersection of Hypoluxo and Lawrence Roads when a silver Pontiac Grand Am made an improper left turn in front of a black Volkswagen Tiguan.
Investigation has determined the Pontiac, driven by Nelson Forlenza, was traveling east on Hypoluxo Road and the Volkswagen, driven by Anna Connell, was traveling west on the same roadway.
The Pontiac violated the Volkswagen’s right of way while making a left turn onto Lawrence Road. The Volkswagen struck the passenger’s side of the Pontiac.
The passenger, a 30-year-old Lantana man, was taken via Trauma Hawk to Delray Medical Center in critical condition. We are not releasing his name until we have been able to contact his family.
Forlenza, 26, of South Palm Beach, and Connell, 24, of Lake Worth, were taken to JFK Medical Center in stable condition.
The investigation is ongoing, and anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call Traffic Homicide Investigator Vincent Mastro at 561-742-6165.
