Boynton Beach Police are investigating a shooting that critically injured a 32-year-old woman on Sunday night.
Officers responded to the 400 block of Northeast 11th Avenue at around 11:39 p.m., and found the victim, identified as Melissa Lavell, on the ground suffering from several gunshot wounds.
Lavell told police that a man tried to rob her. She provided the description of a skinny black male with dreadlocks, wearing a white tank top and basketball shorts.
Lavell was taken via trauma alert to Delray Medical Center where she remains in critical but stable condition.
