Police are investigating a traffic crash that resulted in the death of a 38-year-old Boynton Beach man this morning at the intersection of Boynton Beach Boulevard and Industrial Drive.
Traffic Homicide Investigators were called to the scene at around 10:20 a.m. after the passenger’s side of a black Mercedes-Benz slammed into the back of a Ford F550 flatbed truck. Investigation has determined that the Ford F550, driven by Arthur Lee Phillips III, 51, of Pompano Beach, was stopped at the intersection waiting to turn north onto Industrial Drive. The Mercedes, driven by Arshia Poursartip of Boynton Beach, was traveling east on Boynton Beach Boulevard, and while attempting to stop, hydroplaned into the back of the truck. Poursartip was taken via trauma alert to Delray Medical Center where he died.
Phillips was taken to Bethesda Hospital with minor injuries.
