Registration is underway for the 8th annual Boynton Beach Police Department Teen Police Academy, a week-long summer camp dedicated to increasing an understanding between our community’s youth and their local police.
The academy program will provide youth a hands-on opportunity to learn how the BBPD operates. Class topics will include: K-9, police patrol techniques, dangers of traffic stops, firearm safety, ropes course, bike patrol, marine enforcement, gang and drug awareness, crime scene procedures and field trips.
The academy will be held August 8-12, 2016 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Intracoastal Park Clubhouse in the City of Boynton Beach.
Participants must be between 14-16 years old and enrolled in school. Parental consent is required. The cost of the program is $100 and includes a T-shirt, ball cap, sports bag and lunch throughout the week. Payment is required at the time of registration and refundable until July 1.
