Shout-out to the Amazon Prime delivery driver who called 911 after she saw a girl running down the street with a package that just been delivered. The girl dropped the box in the bushes on Southwest 8th Avenue and the delivery woman returned the package to its rightful owner. She told officers that she noticed her truck being followed by at least one male and one female on bicycles. A Ring doorbell camera captured video of the theft, and we’re sharing it in hopes of identifying the suspect. Since today is #CyberMonday, here are some tips to try and prevent a porch pirate from stealing your packages:
* Consider having it delivered to your community’s management office or your place of business
* Require a signature for delivery
* Schedule delivery (if possible) for when someone’s home
* Invest in doorbell/home video surveillance system
