A 21-year-old woman is in the Palm Beach County Jail this morning after she shot a man during a drug deal they set up via Snapchat.
Micaela Andres Francisco of Lake Worth is charged with aggravated battery with a firearm, carrying a concealed firearm during the commission of a felony and improper exhibition of a firearm.
The man who was shot was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Officers responded to Publix at 4770 N. Congress Ave., around 10 p.m. in reference to a shots fired complaint. Witnesses told dispatch that a car crashed into concrete barriers near the front entrance of Publix, and a woman was shooting at the men inside the vehicle.
When officers arrived on scene, they found Francisco and immediately took her into custody. She was in possession of a 9mm Taurus handgun.
Investigation revealed that Francisco met the victim on Snapchat and set up a deal to sell him marijuana. After realizing that the man had paid her with fake money, Francisco began shooting at his car as he was driving away, she told detectives.
