A Boynton Beach man is facing a felony cruelty to animal charge for throwing his roommate’s dog against a sliding glass door earlier this year. An investigation by Boynton Beach Police Animal Cruelty Investigator Liz Roehrich determined that Austin Manning Long, 27, was responsible for the severe injuries that led to the death of a 7-year-old French bulldog named Tyrion on March 19, 2022. A necropsy determined the dog died from “an acute, blunt force trauma to the chest/cranial most abdomen.”
Boynton Beach Police obtained an arrest warrant for Long, who was taken into custody by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday. He has since been released from the Palm Beach County Jail.
