Boynton Beach Police are announcing the resignation of an employee following an internal affairs investigation into a positive drug test result.
Boynton Beach Police Chief Michael G. Gregory recommended Rocky Zavattaro’s employment be terminated after an internal affairs investigation determined he violated the department’s Oath of Office, rules and regulations, and drug testing policy.
Zavattaro resigned prior to City Manager Lori LaVerriere finalizing Chief Gregory’s recommendation.
“We took affirmative steps to address the severity of misconduct in this case, and we will continue to hold police officers to the high standard expected by our community,” Chief Gregory said.
Zavattaro was hired as a police officer by the City of Boynton Beach in April 2003.
