Boynton Beach Police have filed charges against the man responsible for shooting at someone in broad daylight last month in the area of 504 N.E. 12th Ave.
Tavonte Clemons, 26, of Boynton Beach, is charged with discharging a firearm in public, carrying a concealed firearm and improper exhibition of a firearm.
No one was injured during the shooting on April 1 at around 11:56 a.m., however, there were several people in the area, including a toddler inside a nearby store. Video obtained from the Cherry Hill Mini Market shows Clemons firing seven rounds toward an unknown man in a field near Northwest 13th Avenue. After the shooting, Clemons went into the store and told people that he shot at a man known as “Paul.”
Detectives recognized Clemons from a shooting on March 9 in front of 512 N.W. 11th Ave., where he had been shot in leg. During that shooting, he was wearing black shorts and a black shirt with a NASA emblem and neon print. Clemons was wearing the same clothing on April 1.
Clemons is already in the Palm Beach County Jail on unrelated charges.
