16-028704 1600 hours Sara Sims 209 NW 9th CT Armed Robbery
W/M Justin Bedel was walking through Sara Sims Park to wait for Uber ride. Bedel was approached by two black males, one wearing a white t-shirt and gray shorts and the second black male with dreads wearing a black shirt pulled a black handgun out (possibly a .38 cal) and stole his cell phone. The suspects were last seen in a white Toyota Fl tag Y26HCJ northbound on N. Seacrest Blvd. Victim refused EMS.
16-028709 1640 hours 705 Mission Hill Rd. DUI-refusal/Crash
Officers responded to the report of a roll-over crash. W/F Brianna Zumbrum 4.09.94 fled the scene of an injury crash in Delray Beach reference DBPD case #16-08020. Traveling north on Swinton Ave at high speed Zumbrum attempted a right turn on to Mission Hill Rd which caused her vehicle to roll over crashing into the palm trees in the lawn of 705 Mission Hill Rd. Zumbrum was pulled from her vehicle by the witnesses. Zumbrum was not injured as a result of the crash. Upon completion of the crash investigation, a DUI investigation was completed by Officer Castro. Zumbrum was taken into custody, treated at BMH, later transferred to PBC main jail.
16-028460 1541 hours Auto Burglary Cracker Barrel 1475 SW 8th St.
Between the hours of 1245 and 1400 unknown person or persons entered a white 2014 Chrysler T/C minivan and stole black IPad Air ($600), silver IPod classic ($350), brown Nikon DSCR D5500 camera ($775), Samsung S4 cell phone ($200), Pink IPod Nano ($100), Audio Technics headphones ($164), Oakley camouflage backpack ($200), Slapps headphone case ($20), Feather light blue backpack ($20), two 32gb memory cards ($120), miscellaneous clothes ($260), and a CD containing vacation pictures ($50). The total amount of stolen items is approximately is $2,909. Unknown method of entry, no camera surveillance system covering parking lot.
16-28564 2034 hours Armed Robbery 400 NE 15th Ave.
The victim stated that he made arrangements to meet with an unknown subject at NE 15th Ave and NE 15th Ct to purchase a router from an ad he saw on Craigslist. B/M suspect point a handgun at the victim stole $100 and drove away in a silver Malibu with a black front bumper, unknown tag. Suspect was wearing a blue and white Polo shirt- N.F.I. The vehicle was occupied by three black males.
16-28579 2135 hours Burglary Residence SE 27th Ave.
Arriving home the owner/victim reported that an unknown black male was in her front yard. The suspect is described as approximately 5’11”, with dreadlocks, and holding an open flip phone. The suspect was last seen running from the residence, getting into newer black vehicle (possibly a Nissan Altima). A check of the residence the victim found the screen to the east side window removed and found the back door open. No property reported missing at this time.
16-28584 2205 hours Structure Fire Brooklyn Bagel 1790 N. Congress Ave.
Officers and BBFR responded to the report of heavy smoke coming from Brooklyn Bagel. It was determined that the bagel oven was left on which caused the bagels to catch on fire. Minimal damage to the oven and front door. No injuries reported.
Bravo 1, 2 conducted traffic enforcement at 1300 Old Boynton Road-Officers issued 68 citations.
0617hrs Multiple Auto Burglaries 2800 High Ridge Rd. Tri-Rail
Units responded to the Tri-Rail parking lot and found several vehicles had been burglarized by an unknown suspect(s). All vehicles involved had a smashed window with the interiors ransacked. There is no suspect information at this time, and the parking lot does not have any surveillance cameras. 16-028373, 16-028374, 16-028375, 16-028376, 16-028377, 16-028378, and 16-028380.
16-028395 0954hrs Stolen Vehicle 303 NE 17th Ave
Victim advised that sometime between 1800hrs yesterday and 0954hrs this morning an unknown suspect(s) stole her white 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis (FL #Z5QKQ). The victim advised the vehicle was parked in her driveway unsecured with the keys inside. Vehicle was entered into NCIC/FCIC.
16-028266 1628hrs Burglary to Auto NW 1st Ave
Contact was made with the victim, who stated his vehicle was parked in the driveway at the above location at 1600hrs on 5-19-2016. Victim stated that at 0900hrs he noticed the vehicle has been ransacked. Victim also stated all the paperwork was thrown on the floor of the vehicle and the only thing missing was approximately $3.00 in change. The victim advised his wife did leave the vehicle unlocked overnight.
16-028294 1901hrs Overdose (Non-Fatal) 801 N. Congress Ave
Contact was made with W/M who was possibly suffering from an overdose. He stated that he injected himself with 1 “cap” of heroin a prior to officers arrival. He was treated by BBFD and transported to JFK hospital.
16-028320 2121hrs AOD Ocean Ridge 8086 Red Reef LN
BBPD Dispatch advised that a detective from Ocean Ridge PD requested BBPD’s assistance with recovery of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle which was stolen out of Ocean Ridge (ORPD case # 2016-0134) was described as a gray Toyota Highlander bearing FL tag 4RAMZ. According to info from the detective, the vehicle was supposedly parked in front of this address. Officer Jean set up at the south gate in order to observe if the vehicle attempted to leave the complex. As Officer Jean was waiting outside the gate he did observe the stolen vehicle approaching the gate in an attempt to leave. Officer Jean determined that he had ample time to lay out stop sticks in order to prevent the vehicle from fleeing. As the vehicle exited the gate, it struck the stop sticks causing the tires to deflate. The vehicle was able to continue out of the development and travel southbound, no vehicles gave chase after the suspect vehicle however on his way home from an off duty detail detective Diaz observed the vehicle enter into the Barwood community. Units responded and located the vehicle unoccupied.
16-028327 2216hrs Failed to Stop Boynton Beach Blvd/ N. Federal Hwy
Officer A. Vargas observed a small dark color, possibly red, 2dr convertible (possibly a Mazda or Scion) traveling southbound on N Federal Highway, at a high rate of speed. As Officer Vargas attempted to catch up to the vehicle, it made a right turn, traveling westbound on E Boynton Beach Blvd. The vehicle again accelerated away, once he activated his emergency equipment the vehicle failed to stop, and Officer Vargas terminated his efforts to stop the vehicle.
16-028332 2226hrs Possession of Heroin 426 NW 11th Ave
Contact was made with W/M Carlos Sprague (DOB: 02/21/1987) who was sitting in the driver seat of his vehicle with the driver door open. Officer Hayes asked Sprague if he knew anyone at this address, at which time he responded “no”. While speaking to Sprague, Officer Hayes observed two clear capsules filled with Heroin. Sprague was placed under arrest and TOT PBCJ.

Officers and EMS responded and found w/m unconscious and bleeding from the nose. Life saving techniques were provided and he regained consciousness. He was transported to Bethesda for further treatment.
16028095 1856 hours Shots Fired / Suspicious Incident 197 SE 27th Pl
Officers responded in reference to gunshots being heard from within the residence. While enroute the caller advised that two black males dressed all in black with hoodies over their head were seen running from the residence. Upon arrival contact with made with the resident who was cooperative and allowed officers to perform a security sweep of the interior of the apartment. No victims or evidence of a shooting were found. A canvas of the area yielded no further evidence, victims, or suspects.

Officers and EMS responded and found w/m lying on the sidewalk unconscious and barely breathing. Life saving techniques were provided and he regained consciousness. He was transported to Bethesda for further treatment.
