16014929 1707 hours Burglary (Auto) 1040 W Gateway Blvd
Victim advised that sometime between 03/11/2016 and this date, unknown person(s) entered their 2009 Mazda, by unknown means, and removed a Lenovo Laptop computer. Owner was able to provide a serial number and the computer was entered F/NCIC. Total loss is estimated at $780.
16014987 2217 hours GTA / Fleeing and Eluding/Arrest 100 Blk NE 15th Ave.
OIT Berben and PTO J. Rivera were on patrol in the 100 block of NE 15th Ave when a Black 2015 Mercedes Benz rolled through the stop sign and proceeded to make a left turn from NE 1st Ct and NE 15th Ave. OIT Berben and PTO J Rivera recalled a BOLO issued by Delray Beach PD in reference to multiple stolen Mercedes Benz vehicles out of their jurisdiction. After making a U-Turn to initiate a traffic stop, the suspect vehicle abruptly turned northbound on NE 1st St. The vehicle then drove to NE 16th Ave and then back to NE 15th Ave. The suspect vehicle failed to yield to emergency equipment and subsequently began taking evasive maneuvers in an attempt to evade capture. The suspect drove southbound on NE 1st St and drove into an embankment. The driver then placed the vehicle in reverse in an attempt to dislodge the vehicle from the embankment; the attempt was met with negative results. Once driver now identified as B/M Guyrson Maddy DOB 06/28/1989 realized the vehicle was stuck, he subsequently exited the vehicle in an attempt to avoid arrest. After a short foot pursuit Maddy was subsequently apprehended by several units arriving on scene. It was discovered during the foot pursuit, the Mercedes while still in reverse-crashed into the front push bar of Vehicle 4442. There was no visible damage to the BBPD vehicle. A .38 Smith & Wesson revolver was located in the hedges where Maddy was seen entering. Crime Scene subsequently recovered the firearm for processing. Detective Joseph was able to obtain a voluntary oral standard from Maddy in reference to comparison to the recovered firearm. Detectives from Delray Beach PD responded to interview Maddy in reference to the stolen vehicle from their jurisdiction. Maddy was subsequently charged with Felony Fleeing & Eluding, Grand Theft Auto, Resisting Arrest without Violence, and Felony Habitual Traffic offender. Maddy was medically cleared and TOT PBCJ. 16-014993 2255 hours Burglary to Auto/Arrest 512 SE 1st St.
Units responded to the above address in reference to a burglary in progress. Victim called police when he discovered a B/M/Juvenile inside his 2007 gray Chevy Trailblazer bearing FL tag # UTV5J. After being discovered, the suspect fled the area towards the 300 block of SE 6th Ave. PTO Rivera spotted him walking eastbound by Pence Park to wit a Terry Stop was conducted. Post show up the victim positively identified him as the suspect who was inside his vehicle. A subsequent inventory of the victim’s vehicle yielded no damage or missing items. He was charged with Burglary to Auto and tot JAC.
16015006 0250 hours Strongarm Robbery Meadows Square / 4753 N. Congress Ave.
Units responded to the above address in reference to a delayed Strongarm Robbery. Upon arrival units met with the victim who advised two unk. B/M suspects had hit him in the head and stolen his Iphone 6. Victim who is a security guard for the plaza advised during the course of his duty he was approached by a B/M suspect who asked to use his phone. When approaching the B/M another B/M approached from behind striking him in the head. The victim stated once they took the phone both suspects fled the area on foot. Victim suffered minor injuries in the form of scratches and scraps to his hands. A perimeter was established and the K-9 was deployed in an effort to locate the suspects- after an extended period of searching units were unable to locate either. Units also attempted to GPS locate the phone but were met with negative results. During this writing additional information was obtained in reference to the identity of both suspect(s). Investigation is currently on-going.
16-14854 1023 hours Exposure 901 S. Federal Hwy.
An unknown B/M exposed his genitalia to the victim in retribution for her refusing to answer his questions and requesting him to leave her alone. Suspect was riding a white bicycle and described as mid-thirties in age, tall, low cut brown hair, and a gap in his teeth. He was wearing a white shirt and blue jeans.
16014749 2009 hours Overdose Las Ventanas / 1331 S Federal Hwy
Officers responded to the above location and found w/m unresponsive, agonal breathing, with apparent signs of intravenous drug use. Officers and BBFD provided medical assistance and he was later transported to Bethesda ER where he was declared brain dead. Det Athol and crime scene responded.
