19-062994 Burglary To Auto 850 W. Gateway Blvd 1643 hours
Officers were dispatched to the 7-Eleven Gas station to investigate a delayed burglary to a vehicle. The officers met with the victim who said he parked his work van next to the building while doing some repair work inside the building. The victim said he came back out to his van and noticed that the passenger side window was smashed out. The victim then inspected the interior of the van and noticed more than a $1,000 worth of items were stolen from within the van.

19-062999 Burglary To Auto x6 Winchester Park 1813 hours
Officers responded to the parking lot of Golden Corral in reference to vehicle burglaries that were in progress. The officers arrived shortly after the suspect vehicle left the area. The officers discovered evidence of burglary to more than 6 vehicles (smashed out windows). The suspect vehicle, a stolen white Mazda 3 bearing FL Tag IN8-0SV, was spotted northbound on Congress Ave near Gateway Blvd. CRT/NIU Officers in unmarked vehicles made a valiant effort at keeping an eye on the vehicle. Officers also attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle but the driver sped off recklessly. Officers then terminated their attempts at stopping the vehicle. The vehicle was last seen traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on I-95 passing Lantana Rd. Additional burglaries to vehicles were discovered at Cinemark 1151 N. Congress Ave which are related to the above incident. Ongoing investigation.

Officers on patrol heard what sounded like gunshots coming from the above location. The officers flooded the area in search of suspects and victims. The officers did not locate any suspects, victims, or physical evidence of a shooting. Area hospitals were notified.

Units responded to the area in reference to possible gunshots, upon arrival a damaged mailbox was located. It appears that unknown suspect(s) placed an unknown type of explosive device, believed to be a higher power firework, inside the mailbox. Upon detonation the mailbox exploded and the contents were damaged.
